Initial Set Up

Help Using SmarterStats
A full Help section is accessible in SmarterStats Professional* by clicking on the Help link in the top right hand corner when you are logged in. In the pop-up Help window you are presented with these options:
Help for this page - which presents topics for the specific SmarterStats page you are on.
Help Topics and Search Online Help - which takes you to a Table of Contents for all topics, Knowledge Base allowing you to search topics by keyword, and Forum for information exchange.

Standard Reports
SmarterStats offers 7 predefined standard reports under Reports in the Standard Reports folder:

Marketing
Search Engine
Site Activity
Site Usage
Site User
Webmaster
Standard reports may be customized by date range using the Show Date Ranges link in the right column menu when viewing each standard report. Reports may be printed (icon far right toward the top) or exported (icon top of center column, View Report) as CSV or TAB files.

Individual Reports
Ala cart items from the Standard Reports are available. Reports are broken down into 10 topic folders in the Reports section (left column menu) of SmarterStats. The 10 topic folders include: Files, Traffic, Paths, Visitors, Referrals, Browsers, Server Responses, Search Engines, Server Utilization and Geographics.
Individual reports may be added to your Favorites section for your own customized view. Standard reports may be customized by date range using the Show Date Ranges link in the right column menu when viewing each standard report. Reports may be printed (icon far right toward the top) or exported (icon top of center column, View Report) as CSV or TAB files.

Data Mining
SmarterStats allows you to select specific pages or files on your site and ask predifined questions to gain additional information. You can access the Data Mining area from the left column menu. In the Data Mining section, the File Path field allows you choose a specific page or document (downloaded files) on your site. The Question drop down menu allows you select from a list of predefined questions to ask about the specified page or document. Answers provide information such as daily activity, top entry and exit pages, referring pages from within your site, and more.
Knowledge of how files paths correspond to the pages and files on your site is a must. For additional help finding a specific page or file from your site, please contact us.

Customizing Reports
For all reports, you can set specific date ranges, number of results (Rows) to display, as well as additional display settings using the calendar and drop down menus in the far right column in SmarterStats.
